The Meatech MT-IQF IQF tunnel freezer individually quick-freezes food products — chicken nuggets, meatballs, fish pieces, vegetables, fruit, diced meat — to -18°C exhaust temperature in a continuous 20–45 minute freeze cycle, producing free-flowing individually frozen pieces that do not clump together in the retail pack. The "individually quick frozen" principle is achieved by the combination of the tunnel format (each piece spends a defined residence time in the freeze zone) and the fluidisation airflow that lifts and separates small pieces during freezing, preventing adjacent pieces from freezing together before their surfaces are individually frozen.
Seven models from SSD-100 (1,300 mm belt width, 10 kW, 7,700 mm length) to SSD-1500 (3,000 mm belt width, 41 kW, 21,700 mm length) cover the full range from pilot-scale and central kitchen IQF production to large industrial frozen food manufacturing. A: The primary selection parameters are belt width (determines maximum throughput for a given product layer depth) and installed power (determines the refrigeration capacity and freezing rate). For a target of 1,000 kg/h of chicken nuggets: the SSD-500 (2,000 mm belt, 19 kW) or SSD-800 (2,200 mm belt, 19 kW) are typically sized for this range depending on nugget size and layer depth. For IQF vegetables at 2,000 kg/h, the SSD-1000 or SSD-1500 (3,000 mm belt, 41 kW) is appropriate. A: Products should enter the IQF tunnel at below 30°C for optimum freezing efficiency and tunnel performance.
