Checkweigher

The Meatech MT-CW checkweigher series provides 100% in-motion weight verification of food products on the production line — automatically weighing each unit and rejecting or diverting those that fall outside the declared weight tolerance before they reach the packaging or dispatch stage. Seven models cover the full weight range from 20 g (MT-CW-120, for small sachets, spice packets, and single-serve portions) to 40 kg (MT-CW-600, for bulk packs, sacks, and large retail units), with six different rejection mechanisms (push rod, air blow, lever, drop-down, flip plate, diverter) to match the product format, line speed, and space constraints at each installation point.

▌ Product Description

The high-speed A/D sampling controller achieves weighing accuracy from ±0.1 g (MT-CW-120) to ±5–20 g (MT-CW-600) with maximum throughput speeds from 35 to 200 pieces per minute depending on the model — making the checkweigher applicable to every product and pack size in the Meatech processing line range from individual fresh-cut vegetable packs to bulk produce bags. The 99-product-type memory stores weight and speed parameters for each product SKU — enabling rapid, tool-free product changeover by selecting the product formula from the touchscreen interface without re-entering parameters.

▌Solution Applications

Solution / Line

Role of MT-CW

All packaging lines — declared weight compliance

Mandatory final weight verification before dispatch for any product sold with a declared weight. MT-CW-200 (≤1,000g, ±0.3–1g) for fresh-cut and IQF vegetable retail packs; MT-CW-300 (≤3,000g) for net bag produce packs; MT-CW-400/500 (≤20–40kg) for bulk sacks and boxes.

Potato, Onion & Garlic Packing

After MT-NBP net bag packaging, MT-CW-300 or MT-CW-400 verifies fill weight of each net bag and rejects underweight or overweight bags before dispatch — ensuring every bag shipped meets the declared weight and reducing overweight giveaway.

Fresh Meat Cutting & Packing

MT-CW-200 or MT-CW-300 before the MAP packaging machine — verifies portion weight before sealing, allowing the MAP machine to seal only weight-compliant portions. Weight data is sent to the MT-LBL-F print-and-apply labeller for printing the actual weight on each tray label.

▌FAQ

Q:  Which model should I choose for a fresh vegetable retail pack line?

A:  For standard retail fresh vegetable packs (200–500g packs of cut carrot, broccoli, mixed vegetables): MT-CW-200 (≤1,000g range, ±0.3–1g accuracy, 160 pcs/min) is the correct model — it covers the weight range, achieves the accuracy required for declared-weight retail compliance, and handles the throughput rate of a standard fresh-cut vegetable line. For net-bagged produce in the 1–5 kg range (potatoes, onions): MT-CW-300 (≤3,000g, ±0.5–3g accuracy, 80 pcs/min) is appropriate. For bulk 10–25 kg sacks: MT-CW-500 (≤40kg, ±5–20g, 40 pcs/min).

Q:  What rejection mechanism is recommended for fresh produce packs?

A:  For flat retail tray packs and pouches at high speed (100+ pcs/min): air blow rejection is the standard — it ejects out-of-weight packs sideways with a brief air blast without mechanical contact, minimising the risk of product damage or pack distortion at high speed. For heavier products (net bags 1–5 kg, bulk packs): push rod rejection is more reliable — the mechanical push arm provides the force needed to divert heavier products. Meatech specifies the rejection mechanism as part of the checkweigher selection for your specific product and line speed.
